Managed Access

Wi-Fi and switching are where every working day starts, and they’re the layer your people notice the moment something’s wrong. LIMA designs coverage around your building, installs it, and keeps it monitored, maintained and sized for the way the space is used.

Small problems, felt by everyone

Access is the layer your staff experience directly. Nobody notices a well-configured firewall, but everyone notices a meeting room where Teams calls drop, a warehouse with a dead zone by the loading bay, or a floor where the network slows to a crawl every morning at nine.

Because every system now lives in the cloud, the office network carries all of it. Underpowered access points and ageing switches don’t cause dramatic outages. They cause a slow, permanent drain on productivity that people stop reporting because they assume it’s normal.

What Managed Access covers

Managed Access covers the wireless and the wired layer together: access points, the switching behind them and the configuration that ties both to the rest of your network.

We design the environment around the building and how it is used, specify from a controlled range of Cisco Meraki and Fortinet hardware, install it, and then run it. Ongoing management includes proactive monitoring of device health and performance, configuration management and backups, firmware and software updates applied as standard, and capacity reporting.

Coverage is a design exercise, not a hardware purchase. The number of access points a floor needs depends on its construction, its density and what people do on it. We size for the way the space is used.

The benefits

Consistent experience across the site

Calls that hold, files that open and applications that respond, in every part of the building.

Capacity planned, not discovered

Ongoing reporting on utilisation and performance means we tell you when a floor is running out of headroom, before your team start telling you.

Maintained rather than installed and forgotten

Firmware updates, configuration backups and proactive maintenance keep access hardware supported, secure and performing over its whole life.

One team across the whole path

When a user reports a problem, the team looking at the access point is the same team that manages the firewall and the circuit. No triage between suppliers.

Why choose LIMA for managed access

Networking is the part of our business that has never changed. Through every shift in where data lives, our customers have needed reliable connectivity in their buildings, and we have been designing and supporting it for over 28 years. We build from a deliberately narrow range of hardware we know performs, and we wrap it in the same managed service, monitoring and SLAs that cover the rest of your infrastructure.
