Internet Connectivity

A business line isn’t like the one you have at home. It takes months to install, it costs considerably more, and how much you pay often dictates how quickly it gets fixed. LIMA designs the right mix of circuits for each site, manages the install and deals with the provider on your behalf.

Reliable connectivity, designed around you

When you move into a house, the line is usually in the ground waiting for you. Businesses rarely get that luxury. Even in a building that has stood for fifty years, a circuit has to be either provisioned or installed to connect the building to your carrier’s network.

Either way it takes planning. A new leased line typically takes around 90 days to install and activate, which makes connectivity one of the first decisions in an office move rather than one of the last. Leave it to the fit-out and you will be running a business on a 4G dongle.

What internet connectivity covers

A leased line is fibre, end to end, dedicated to you. It costs considerably more than the broadband you have at home, and what that money buys is the service level attached to it.

If a third party digs through a residential line, the fix takes weeks. If they dig through a business leased line, the carrier is contractually obliged to treat it as a priority and the fix is measured in hours. That difference is the entire commercial argument, and it is the reason a leased line is the right foundation for any site where people can’t work without systems.

Your connectivity safety net

Even with a strong SLA, a single circuit means a period where your site has no connectivity at all. For most organisations, a full working day offline is not an acceptable outcome, so the design question becomes what happens in those hours.

There are three ways to answer it, and we can supply all three:

A resilient second leased line takes a separate physical and logical path into the carrier’s network. It is the strongest option and the most expensive, and for some organisations it is prohibitive.

A broadband backup circuit – fibre to the premises or fibre to the cabinet – is the pragmatic choice for most sites. It costs a fraction of a second leased line and keeps people and systems working through an outage, which is usually all it needs to do.

Starlink has become a credible third option, as a backup anywhere or as a primary circuit at sites where fibre is impractical, temporary or years away.

How we deliver it

Our pre-sales team designs the connectivity package for each site, then we manage the order, the install programme and the carrier through to activation. After that, the circuit sits under the same managed service as the rest of your network, so when there’s a problem you raise it with us and we chase the carrier rather than the other way round.

The benefits

Your people keep working

A designed backup path means an outage becomes an inconvenience rather than a lost day. Staff stay on email, the phones stay up and customer-facing work carries on.

Fix times measured in hours

Business circuits carry priority repair commitments that consumer lines don’t. When a line is cut, you are at the front of the queue, not behind every household on the street.

Designed around the site

Head office, a small satellite branch and a remote depot have different needs and different budgets. We design each one on its merits rather than applying a standard package.

One accountable partner

we own the order, the install, the carrier escalation and the ongoing management. You get one number to call and one team that already knows your environment.

Why choose LIMA for internet connectivity

We are not a carrier, which means we have no reason to push you towards a particular network. We hold relationships across the market and recommend the circuit that suits the site, then take on the part most organisations find painful: managing the provider.
