LIMA hold virtual raffle raising £718 for Red Nose Day and Salford Foodbank
LIMA was proud to support Red Nose Day and Salford Foodbank on Friday 19 March by hosting a virtual raffle to raise vital funds for two incredible charities.
Comic Relief is a major charity based in the UK which strives to create a just world, free from poverty. Their mission is to drive positive change through the power of entertainment, making a difference to the lives of millions of people across the UK and around the world.
Salford Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. They provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis.
Although the fund-raising activities had to be undertaken virtually this year, that certainly didn’t stop the LIMA team from pulling together to raise as much money as possible. As a result, we are delighted to announce that the total amount raised was a wonderful £718.76!
LIMA fund matched the monies raised making the total a record-breaking amount raised for Red Nose Day and Salford Foodbank by LIMA.
The virtual raffle gave our employees a chance to win a variety of prizes, from a bottle of pink gin to a Netflix gift card, with our CEO, Lisa Thornton, generously donating two of the gifts. Drawn via Microsoft Teams, it reinforced the fact that team spirit and collaboration can be achieved remotely, both of which are nurtured to make LIMA a great place to work.
As a part of the local community here in Salford and Manchester, we believe that you can never do ‘too much’ and that there are always improvements that can be made to help benefit our community and the people who live in it.
Throughout the next few months, we are excited to be continuing our partnership with Salford Foodbank to support our local community and more specifically, those in crisis.
We will be housing a food gift box collection point at our office in Salford Quays where staff and members of the community can place donations of vital supplies such as tinned goods, long-life milk, cereals, dried food etc. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, we are also going to be setting up an Amazon wish list, where donations can be bought online and added to our collection box.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks to find out more about our partnership with Salford Foodbank.
